Petr Chromčák (b. 2002, Vsetín, Czech Republic) is completing his Master’s degree in film editing at the Film and Television Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava (FTF VŠMU). He has been involved in filmmaking since his time at a filmmaking high school. Petr loves to shape projects from their earliest stages and remains a vital dramaturgical voice throughout. He is drawn to queer topics as well as themes of childhood and adolescence.

Films he has worked on have been screened internationally, including at IDFF Ji.hlava, Kassel Dokfest, Filmschoolfest Munich, ShorTS Trieste, or Shorts Mexico, as well as at numerous queer film festivals such as Out On Film Atlanta, Kashish PRIDE Mumbai, or Beijing QFF.

He has participated in film residencies in Taipei (Taiwan) and Melgaço (Portugal).

He occasionally collaborates on the projects of his partner Radek Ševčík as a co-director and cinematographer (Tales of Minho, or Inner Need of Karaoke). He also occasionally creates multimedia art installations and is interested in film pedagogy.
