Petr Chromčák (b. 2002, Vsetín, CZ) is mainly an editor and documentary director, based in Zlín (CZ). He runs the production and festival distribution company tucnak.art, founded in Bratislava in 2025, and works as a teacher of editing at a filmmaking high school in Zlín.
He holds a master’s degree in Editing from Academy of Performing Arts – Film & TV Faculty Bratislava (SK), completed a course in Film and Transmedia Storytelling with AI at VIA UC (DK), and has participated in international programs such as the European Editing Masterclass (BE), Taiwan Pitch Talent Village (TW), Frontal Shot Residency (PT), and DocStudent HUB (RO).
Petr loves to shape projects from their earliest stages and remains supportive dramaturgical voice throughout. He is drawn to queer or historical topics as well as themes of childhood and adolescence.
The shorts he has edited have been screened at festivals such as Ji.hlava (CZ), DOK Leipzig (DE), AFO (CZ), 2ANNAS (LV), Out On Film Atlanta (US), Mardi Gras Film Festival (AU), and Filmschoolfest Munich (DE); and brodcast on televison channels and online platforms such as RTVS, Taiwan+, and DAFilms.
His directing work has been screened at festivals such as FIPADOC (FR), Kassel Dokfest (DE), Film Festival della Lessinia (IT), and MDOC (PT).
